Pricing rules & the cascade

How Gold Feed turns spot into your price.

Rules cascade from broad to specific: organization → store → category → product. The most specific setting wins; anything left blank inherits from the broader level.

A rule can set: which metal, weight, purity, a fixed amount and/or percentage markup, a minimum/maximum price, and rounding (e.g. round up to .99).

Example

  • Organization default: +10%, round to .99 — covers every product automatically.
  • One ring: 0.5 ozt · 18K · +25% — its own markup wins; rounding is borrowed from the default.

After changing rules, hit Recalculate (computes new prices inside Gold Feed — nothing touches your store yet), review, then Push to store.

Note — Prices recompute from live spot on every recalculation — you set the recipe once and the numbers follow the market.
